  • New Digital Drivers Licences

    If you want your drivers license on your phone – now you can via the myVicroads app! Fully licenced, P and L plate drivers can now have their licence viewable on the app. It definitely saves carrying a losable card or ID item! Physical card licences while still valid, will continue to be issued. Any license changes will immediately appear on the app.

  • New Free Legal Service

    Based in Wallan, the Mitchell Shire now has a new legal centre. The Northern Community Legal Centre will provide free legal advice across topics like Family Violence, Tenancy questions and Motor Vehicle accidents. The service is aimed at those identifying as Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTQI+, victims of Family Violence or those under 25.

  • New speed limit Hume Freeway Donnybrook

    From November 30, 2024, the speed limit on the northbound lanes of the Hume Freeway between Donnybrook Road and Cameron Street, will be reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h. Also, any U-turns at the median openings on Cameron Street and Gums Lane will no longer be allowed

  • The New Mitchell Shire Councillors

    After the recent Shire Council Elections the following councillors were voted in: 


    North Ward: Ned Jeffrey, John Dougall and Andrea Pace.

    Central Ward: Timothy Hanson, Nathan Clark and Bob Humm.

    South Ward: Bob Cornish and Claudia James.

    The first council meeting will be Monday November 18 where the new Mayor will be elected.
